I hate toolbars except for the Google toolbar. Googling sucks without it.

Really? I think it's just detracting my focus from the center of the browser. Maybe this is why I actually like the new Office GUI, because it doesn't remove my focus so much from what I'm actually looking it. As you might understand, I prefer http://www.google.com, right in the middle of my browser. :)

It's interesting how this seems to be the case for a lot of people. If you installed all the toolbars you were offered then pretty soon you wouldn't actually be able to see the webpage because of all the bars.
Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

So one can expect now another domain called http://googleupdate.google.com (like http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/[^]) filling our hard disk with all those sh*tty crap making our system run slower than a snail. If a hackers site is malware-distributing website, then these sites can also be clarified as a 'White-Collar Malware Websites' creating a diplomatic denial of service on desktops filling it with rubbish.

Even the bigger issue is that even Microsoft asks you whether you want to install something or not, but not the Google toolbar - it updates itself not asking you anything. I don't want something like that in my computer. Another issues is the general gray area that Google is in, I think we are yet to experience the problems when the monster grows up. I don't see how. May as well say that any menu at all is distracting your focus. In any case you can always toggle to full screen. IMO, the Google toolbar provides a lot of useful functionality. People seem fixated on the fact that it's a toolbar, rather than looking at the functionality it provides. Two for starters are: 1. Auto-suggest in the search box - a great timesaver. 2. Search results highlighting and navigation to search terms.

I hate toolbars. Particularly the Google toolbar. My disdain for crappy products has saved me once again!

Really? I can Google just fine without it or any other toolbar.

I can write code fine without IntelliSense. It just takes me longer. The toolbar has a number of features that I find helpful. I mention two in the post above, but there are others.

The Yahoo toolbar is crap, the Google toolbar isn't.

I wonder how long deliberately accumulating that much cruft took.
Otherwise [Microsoft is] toast in the long term no matter how much money they've got. They would be already if the Linux community didn't have it's head so firmly up it's own command line buffer that it looks like taking 15 years to find the desktop. -- Matthew Faithfull
