I'm reading a book on my PC in PDF format using Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.1.1 but whenever I close Acrobat and re-open the document I have to scroll back to the page I was at when closing the document. Does anyone know how to get Acrobat to "bookmark" my last location automatically for further reading? Or maybe recommend PDF reader that has this functionality?

Acrobat remembers where I am when I'm reading stuff like that.  Although sometimes it doesn't.

In Acrobat Reader go to Edit> Preferences Under the Documents Category insert the tick next to "Restore last view settings when reopening documents"

How about FoxIt? Adobe Reader is getting extremely fat.

mobipocket reader. also supports some other formats, and news, etc. You can make adobe work, and foxit works pretty good, but I do recommend an ebook reader for ebooks, auto scroll and some other capabilities. :-D

FoxIt Reader is really nice: 2MB, 1 executable file, no installation. You can also try http://blog.kowalczyk.info/software/sumatrapdf/[^] which is also one-file tool and it's even smaller.

Come to think of it, now they make you use a seperate application to read eBooks. They no longer open in Adobe Acrobat itself. As a side note, I find that some publishers won't allow printing some pages of eBooks. That's very consumer-friendly. Now I can't take them to class.

Sure you can... Get a PDA that will read e-books and take it to class with you. My old Toshiba e335 makes a great e-book reader as well as audio player. Soure, it's Pocket PC 2002, but it's been fulfilling my needs for a lot of years. Draugnar

My English courses forbid electronics. They say it undermines the course's purpose: learning to mine for information from works of literature in context.
