WPF improvements and new controls

WPF Control Improvements Later this year we are also planning to release a number of new controls for WPF. Included in the list we are working on are DataGrid, Ribbon, and Calendar/DatePicker controls.

It would be nice if Microsoft released properly completed technologies to start with. Though, I'm interested to see what Silverlight 2.0 offers, as this is supposed to provide a more-or-less complete set of controls. Marc

Cool thing, thanks for the info! Good to know that "DropShadow and Blur bitmap effects, [...] are currently software rendered [...]". One stupid question, though: Is it still necessary to almost 'hack' the button control to create a CommandLink? I don't understand why they hide such things... Just a thought. Chris

I hate to say it, but I'll believe it when I see it. That WPF destroys some images when it tries to reload them was a known bug late last year, and they didn't bother to fix it, I still need to load images with GDI+ and transfer them. And the media player control is so slow as to be useless.
