Why is common sense not common? Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level where they are an expert. Sometimes it takes a lot of work to be lazy Individuality is fine, as long as we do it together - F. Burns

All jokes about geek-dom aside, it's interesting to reflect on the influence Mr. Gygax ultimately had on generations of gameplayers, and the fantasy genre in general. May he rest in peace.

I just checked. Marc W Miller who designed Traveler is apparently still alive although I couldn't any recent references to him on the web.

and I thought I was the only one that played AD&D and Traveller. There were many an assembly that a handfull of us spent at the top of the bleachers playing traveller instead of watching the football players brag about what they were finally going to do that no other team from our school had ever done before...

I still have the original Dungeon Masters Guide book, with the original art work cover, sitting on my book shelf (looking rather, uh, used). Since the day I obtained that book, I have never viewed dice the same way ... Gary, thank you for creating an entire Universe of fun, wonder and adventure.

A great man. He kept us from harrassing innocent passers-by in the streets by gathering us together with dice and paper and large amounts of beer to harrass 'innocent' orcs in some fantastic world:) Still have all my books but children and work hampered late night gaming:( Mirabilis A Boreyurazof Lorelord
