Maybe I wouldn't be such a good parent then. I don't agree with hiding all that stuff from kids. I'd rather say that the presents were from me than from Santa.

Have some kids and get back to me. You make sure you get the better presents than Santa and the Bunny, but you have to play that part out. Tell me you didn't believe in Santa, Bunny and Tooth Fairy. It doesn't matter how you feel as an adult as a kid they were just magic nd made you feel good. Plus all the other kids believe in it, why fuck it up for yur kids. Plus, you couldn't of had it worse than me as a kid and don't seem as bitter and twisted as I am soI reskom you would let the kids have this bit of harmless crap for a few years.

My answer to that would have to go in the soapbox.

I didn't have it bad as a kid. I suppose it was the embarrassment of my mother still signing my presents "From Santa" well into my mid-twenties.

Oh Crap. My Mum was dead for a few years by then, but I'm sure she wouldn't have embarassed me like that. I'm sorry.

Take it there if you like. Plus while looking at my typing, I know it's spelt your (I'm really not that drunk). I don't give in to my kids and embarass them consistently when required, but the Santa etc. thing, it's not a big deal. A little bit of bullshit like this stuff makesw for a happy childhood.

At 12:25 (about 10 minutes ago) my 8 year old Daughter sprung my wife (trying to be too clever) playing the Easter Bunny and placing Easter eggs in her bedroom. Can't wait till the morning to hear how this cluster fuck plays out. Anyway, finished the Rum for the night, back to the beer.

Why do you take Rum so much? I had some Bacardi last night - was trying to finish it off since I don't like it. I know you do the regular Rum (not white), but still it beats me why anyone would prefer Rum over so many better kinds of alcohol.

This is a Rum. Get your hands on some Bundaberg or Inner Circle. Seriously, you've lived in India, Canada and the USA. Non of which would know a Rum if it bit them on the arse. Get over here to Australia and I'll show you what Rum is.

What am I missing here? So, your daughter caught your wife pretending to be the Easter Bunny. What is the big deal with that?

That didn't happen to me. I think my parents and grandparents ( for the most part ) got the clue when I rolled my eyes everytime I got a present "From Santa" when I was 13. The following year, no more "From Santa" presents :-\

With four older siblings and compiling our wish lists from the Sears Wish Book, no I never believed in Santa Claus. And I thought we'd successfully avoided all that with our kid, but then when he was five he started talking about Santa Claus. Where did we go wrong?

One of our customers to our surprise turned out to be a distillery in Antigua, we perused their wares and they had some very high end aged rums so we went down to the local govt. liquor store and they ordered us in a bottle. I forget what it cost but it was incredibly higher than even the most expensive standard rum on the store shelves. I still remember the first sip, I was completely surprised, nothing like any rum I had ever tasted before. It was criminal to mix it so we didn't. Very tasty. People's idea of rum is probably formulated early on from drinking some cheap crap they got someone to bootleg for them as wee lads. I know mine was.

Cocktails? Real men drink it straight :) (Oh, it's also pretty lethal when taken in quantity - I'm talking 4 day hangover territory here).

Santa and the Tooth Fairy I'll give you, but the Easter Bunny has only recently taken off in the UK. It was always seen as an American thing (along with Winnie the Pooh having a Gopher for a friend - come on Disney, Winnie The Pooh is British and we don't have Gophers here in the UK).

ROTFL - we managed to sneak into our kids rooms ( the 11 yo knows anyhow ) as well as putting some stuff around hte lounge. My son has eaten chocolate this morning, and is totally off the show. It's gonna be a fun day.

Really ? We're in Australia and I grew up with the easter bunny. My mum is German and she grew up with it.

It's huge Colin. Kids aren't meant to know that the parents play Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny. My Alcoholic, Homosexual, Podophelic Father managed to keep that much straight until I explained to him I knew it was crap at the age of 10. I'm waiting to see if my Daughter remembers it in the morning or thinks it's a dream.

My teacher told the whole class when I was 7. My parents told me when I was 12, I think ( I was scared to admit I knew, I thought the presents would stop ). I agree with you, it's a harmless bit of fun, something that makes the world a bit more magical for a kid.

Any chance the old memory might be able to tell me the name of the Rum? I will not be able to afford anything pricey for a while but when I do, I would like to have something worthwhile in mind.
