Free for 5 users is Gemini[^]. When I was looking they weren't ready yet for prime time, but definitely looking good (the only contendere to fogbugz, actually, but Joel sold me on fogbugz way before I knew I was looking for a bug tracker)

I'm looking for an issue tracking system for IT not for a bug tracking system for development. We have TestTrack for bugs.

Ah ok. I'm not sure, but wouldn't it work the same as a bug tracking system?

I know what GPS is, but I didn't know there are still countries where they equip bugs with GPS to track which relay the crawled in

Kind Cryptic. I don't know what it is either and I've spent a fair amount of time looking at ALM, Issue management and Bug Tracking systems. Care to fill us in? ;)

Did I misundrstand the question, you are looking for software that tracks a device??

Would GPS be of use??

If I get a flat tire and need IT to come fix or if I issue a ticket at lunch for a pizza it might be cheaper for them to go pick it up for me. GPS might be valuable in some cases yes.

You posted a question about tracking some kind of flying robot that fixes car tyres? and that delivers Pizzas??

I think the idea was to find software that tracked issues to resolution (broken printer until it's repaired, customer complaint until resolved, etc.) Kinda like bug tracking for the rest of the World. It wasn't about finding things.

Oh I see, thought you they were on about some complicated devices etc. I suppose you could write an app that uploads a file to a server that manages that complaints/problems. You could have something like this for putting it on server if you have an ASP.NET page: My.Computer.Network.UploadFile("c:\File.txt", "http://www.someserver.com/upload.aspx")

Kinda off topic, but the GPS reference and the MVP summit next week brought back memories of my first ever GPS experience. It was when you picked me up from the W (sometime in early 2004 I think). I had never seen one before and remember being very impressed by it. If my memory is right it was a Ford Taurus fitted with a Hertz GPS (probably Magellan).

Kayako[^]looks impressive. I played for a week with their demo, and I will sign up for the hosted version one of this days. One nice thing is that the price is fixed, no matter how many users/technicians you have.

TestTrack can be used for any kind of workflow/issue tracking. I'm trying to push for its use by manufacturing, sales and the RMA group.

I'd recommend Trac. It's based on Python. There's a bit of config required but it's a very good system. You can get it here: http://trac.edgewall.org/[^]
