Hello, maybe this is a repost. :rose: As we all know, CP is a great place. It is such a great place that stupid people copy us again an again. Don't know how to write a cool article? No problem, you can copy/paste one from CP! I just came across another site whose authors managed to copy the articles' texts and images, but weren't able to get the code archives. Anyway, they are not too bad: Most articles contain a link to the author's CP profile. But then ... why couldn't they link to the CP article instead of copying it? Here it is: Marc Clifton writes for aivietnam.net?![^] Yes, just as James T. Johnson.[^] Oops, I did it myself![^] I'll never understand what benefits people expect from copying content such a sleazy way. Can somebody explain why this happens again and again? :confused: [EDIT] And another site: We all know this list...[^] It's not me, Babe![^] [/EDIT] Proud of being copied :-D coco

They only contain a link to the original because they're too stupid to know any better. "Copyright 2006 by Aritificial Intelligence Co.,Ltd" They're claiming copyrights to their content. Big no-no. And they can't even spell Artificial correctly.

Even too stupid to adpapt the table of contents :omg: If you look at your second link (orignal author James T. Johnson) you can see that the links in the table of contents point to the article on CP X|

So... you don't remember the amount of ecstasy and satisfaction, and the big urge of doing it again and again once you learned how the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V worked? Those guys have just learned it... and they were just in front of those pages at that moment... it is not their fault it is the article fault itself... it was in the wrong place in the wrong moment... Those young inexperienced articles... :rolleyes:

Charting control [v1.3]That's nothing. The pages on www.cscoding.com contain broken links to the code archives, because they tried to localize the links for their site.

I found dozens of copies of my article translated into Chinese. I suppose they had a stronger reason than the lamers who simply copy-pasted articles, but it would have been nice had they asked me. Still, most of them even linked back to my original article. :)
