Greetings all. I'm a Java dev who's teaching himself C#, and I was directed to this site by a co-worker as a place to get good, brutally honest feedback on my code. So, some general non-coding questions for you fine folks: 1) What's the accepted way to get feedback from you guys? (I'm imagining it's along the lines of post code in X forum and let the experts, coding gods, flame warriors and nitpickers do their thing, from which I then extract a golden elixir of valuable lessons.) 2) What kinda stuff, feedback-seeking-wise, do you want to see? 3) What kinda stuff, feedback-seeking-wise, do you *not* want to see? 4) What kinda stuff do you expect from me in return? 5) Favorite beer, if any? Thanks!

Hello ! Welcome on CP. As the other already said, the posting guidelines are there to help you post a correct message. Anyway, if you already ask how to post correctly, it means that you care and that already means a lot :) . Just avoid programming questions in the lounge.

If its directly related to code or anything that has a forum that's where it belongs, if you're not sure you can ask and you'll be directed to the proper forum, if its just a general discussion that is indirectly related to work (work being code, architecture, methods, strategies etc) lounge is alright though it depends on the question. Since you've asked, you care and that my friend is something in your favor because not many ask.

welcome to the home of lost hours! say what you want, but be honest and tolerant. Your patience and temper may be stretched thin, but hold on, it too will pass. Obey the rules, fasten seat belts, relax and enjoy the ride. posts come at about Mach 2 and slow down only on weekends. :) Like Elaine, I don't drink beer, or any alcohol, yeah, one of those... got lots of coffee, diet coke and energy drinks to power a star ship. :) Now if only we could find a way to harness the waking power of a 10 year old child.... hmmmmm.... just me, el oh and watch out for the flame war subjects: amd vs intel, ati vs nvidia, windows vs linux, c++ vs c#, and always remember the first rule of CP: "John is armed and dangerous." ;)

Awesome, Guinness is the smoothest beer there is (so long as its on tap, not the horrible stuff that's served in cans X|) I'd love to share a Guinness or three with you mate, just as soon as things are confirmed.
