Xp/Vista have connection limits. (Think it's around 10 inbound connections. Also depends on which version of Vista you have. Think it's 5 for vista home)

So what are the key benefts do Windows Server provide you over XP/Vista?

It costs more for every utility you want to buy. You want decent backup software? $500. Do you really have enough money to buy a proper copy of Server 2003? If you do, then you must have stopped chasing girls to Iowa and back. Vista Business comes with IIS7. I'm sure you'll find that Vista is a lot cheaper than Server 2003/2008. If you want to go totally free, run Linux and use Apache.

It's an option for dedicated hosting. Only cost additional $20 a month for Windows 2003.

If you're going through a hosting company and they host your site on Vista, find another hosting company.

No, I was just curious and comparing Vista's IIS and Server's IIS. They are offerig either Linux or additional $20 for Windows Server 2003.

I couldn't believe that M$ would make it unlimited. So I just had to find out. The connection limit has been exchanged for a simultaneous requests limit, which queues the requests instead of sending a 403.9. Well it's better atleast :|

Very sure, as I am running it on my dev machine with the Bitrate plugin, also you can create multiple sites like in previous server versions.

Nah, I'm staying with XP. Going over to Vista would be more of a stress test on me. :)
