Switching Visual Studio "profiles"
-
Hello! I have been a C#-only developer in my job for the past couple of years, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. We use the ReShaper add-in, which ROCKS! However, we are now turning our attention to a new project, which is a C++ project. This is great, as I get to exercise my brain in completely different ways ("Header files... ah yes, I remember them... :~"). However, we will be using different add-ins (Visual Assist X,...) and a slightly different set-up in Visual Studio. The project lead has come to the conclusion that there are enough differences between our C# setup and the desired C++ setup, and enough conflicts between the various add-ins that its not really practicable to use the same setup for both development environments. So, here is my question: Is there a clever way of telling Visual Studio 2005 that I want to launch a C# development environment, or a C++ development environment, and so enable this-and-that add-in, and disable this-other add-in? I don't know that I can do this using the "Import and Export Settings Wizard", and ideally I'd like to be able to do this "profile switching" from a command line parameter... Cheers, Jon

I just uninstall any add-on that breaks C++ development. Then i bash them, viciously, here. It seems to work...

Hi Shog9, Thanks for your reply. So... have you come across any conflicts between ReSharper and Visual Assist X? Cheers, Jon
