Nowadays, it's best to use an apartment locater service to help you find the best rates and the apartment complexes with the best reputations. I used ProMove in the past, and it worked well; there are other locater services, and each city is different. Don't just move into a complex without first knowing that the complex's current management is competent and responsible. Complexes are bought and sold regularly, so just because someone had good experiences with it 5 years ago doesn't mean it's all that great now. Apartment complexes will want to know your income history over the past year as well as a reference to a previous landlord that you used (if one exists). They may also do a credit check. The more information you can provide them, the faster they can accept your application. If you don't have a year's worth of employment data or a previous landlord, your rental application can still be accepted, but it will probably take longer for them to verify that you're a good risk. Not true. There is a management company that takes care of private rentals for the owner in this area and that is a requirement of theirs. All perfectly legal.

Are you sure it's not won't instead of can't? ie if you make $1000/mo they won't rent you anything listed above $300/mo, but a different owner with a higher risk tolerance might rent you a $400/mo appartment on the same $1000/mo income. Versus public housing where if you're making $1330+/mo it's a $400/mo appartment, but if you only make $1000/mo you can have the same appartment for $300/mo.

If you look at the voting patterns (ie leckey always gets 5ed, you 1ed), you'd realize that you're stating a minority opinion of 1. She's got a better swing with a cluebat than most of us, so we're content to let her beat the idiots around. A word of friendly advise. You've dug yourself a very deep hole in terms of how you're regarded over the flood of junk posts to get your rank up.* The only way you're going to recover and get any respect from the rest of CP is with an extended period of well above average posts. *even if that wasn't your intent when you were dumping posts all over the place a few weeks ago, that's the way it was percieved and no ammount of 'no I wasn't' posts will change that. They'll only dig you in even deeper.

While I'd personally find that amusing myself, there's a risk that some other well meaning noob wouldn't realize some posters were trying to screw CSS over and end up shooting themselves in the foot as well.

Calling people names and trying to make friends with others based solely on the perception that you share a common enemy. Wanna know why? 'Cause then you look like a jerk. And it doesn't matter how much trash-talking your foe engages in, your own bad behavior doesn't look any better in comparison. I hate to break it to you, but no-one searches the forums looking for reasons not to think the person tossing out insults is a troll. Every time you do this, a few more people read your posts for the first time and form a poor opinion of you as a result. A history of bad behavior sticks with you. Why do you think CSS gets voted down so quickly?

The only reason off leckey getting 5's is that she is a gold member. second if it come to me i don't care about the ranking so i don't care about the number of posts and even i was intrested in getting higher ranks i would wrote articles not posting here in the lounge. for me i only care for the emails i receive from CP and the information they contain. that is the soul purpose for me of joining CP. At the end if you looked at my posts at the begining couple of weeks ago you would see that i was having real serious questions but some CP members like leckey for example turned my posts into another subject.

Can we keep the flames out of the lounge? I know you guys love to have a stoush now and again but it seems the whole tone lately has degraded to the point where anything anyone on the outer says is slammed. It adds a whole level of snippiness to the Lounge that's making it less enjoyable to read.
