Hi, I'd like to get some suggestions from you guys.. (Background) I'm running one blog since last year.. Initially, I used to post all stuffs that I like in my blog.. but I've changed my mind and thinking to focus on technical topics only... Now, my blog has around 400-500 RSS subscribers, 30K unique visitors/month and 40K impression per month. (Plan) So, I'm thinking to do two things in my blog. 1) Can you guys suggest me how to find the sponsors? I'm really wanna run some contests in my blog and I wanna get some sponsors from a few companies.. I'm thinking to mail them directly. but I'm confusing one thing. The most of companies used to have a few different email addresses like Media, partners, supports and etc.. My question is ~ Which email address should I used to contact with them? 2) How can I find the direct ads buyer without using third-party service? It would be great if I can the sample letter for that. Writing nice mail for getting a sponsor is very hard for me since English is not my first language.. :( I found one sample from this link[^]... Let me know if you have more idea about that.... thanks in advance..

Thanks and Regards, Michael Sync ( Blog: http://michaelsync.net)

Yes. That's great.. Let's say I found one company from that directory.. That company has a few different email addresses like Media, partners, supports and etc.. Which email address should I used to contact with them?

Shouldn't support get you started (unless it is technical support only)? They should route to the appropriate email address (like business or partners) as applicable. Isn't it?

Yes.. I will mail to partner@****.com for asking about sponsorship... Do you have any experiences in marking something or asking sponsorship? Could you please share me some sample email if you have some?? I'm not so sure what I should write in that mail.. Is it good if I write very sample mail? OR should I write that mail with a lot of big words and marketing term? (The problem is that I don't know those big words .. :( )

Yes. I'm currently using Google Adsense on my blog. With the stats that I mentioned in my first message, I got only $15 per month.. :( I have two blogging friends. One of them got (let's call him "A") 500 USD per month.. Another(let's call him "B") got $200 per month.. When I checked with them, I found that the site run by "B" has the same stats like my site. So, I think that my site is not utilized well. I signed up TextAds and LinkWorth lastnight and still waiting approval.. But I think getting the ads from buyer directly might be better options.... but still thinking how I should write to them and etc.. :)

It really depends on the category of audience your getting and not so much on the number. Having just a technical blog will target audience from technical fields. Having all sorts of info on your blog as you mentioned will gather all sort of people and there's a higher probability that ads are not targeted towards that audience.

Yes. I'm totally agreed with you. I wrote the technical stuffs so the most of audience has some technical knowledges (that means they know exactly which link is ads or which are not.) So, there is no accidental clicks :( I have "okay" impression but poor clicks.... that's why I'm thinking find the direct buyer. And I will charge them by month basis. (not impression or click or action) ;)
