First, I've got to admit that I find this whole CP-offender list to be extremely juvenile, ridiculous and distasteful. And I find it difficult to contemplate the level of disturbing reasoning that must have driven leckey into creating and maintaining such a list. But this post is more about the presence of d@nish[^] on the list which I think is totally bizarre. He's only got a 100 odd posts and most of them are helpful posts in the programming forums. He's listed in leckey's list as : d@nish: Asked the dumb question of 'can I be first to post in the Lounge?' I found a thread that he started yesterday titled "First Post at Lounge" where he asked the following question : "Just out of curiosity, I would like to get to the very first post at the Lounge. Is it possible?" I am not sure why leckey thinks the question is dumb nor do I understand why she thinks he was asking if he could be the first to post in the Lounge. If I were d@nish, I would treat this as gratuitous character assassination. I think leckey should either remove d@nish from that list or at least add herself to the list (if she really wants to keep it fair).

    Regards, Nish

...through the other posts that I said I would review his posts. Some thought I was misunderstanding his question, which is a possibility. If there is someone who thinks a person should be removed I have no problem hearing the person out. Character assasination? I don't think anyone really takes the list seriously. I find it funny that I took my list to my OWN blog to keep flame wars down and two people have started threads about it. So rather than sending me an email, or posting on my blog, you just started a new thread that could be perceived as flaming. I'm getting dizzy folks.

I agree about the list, on t'internet i judge people on what their doing at the present. For example, if you start calling me all the names under the sun and we end up in some massivo flame war that lasts for *eternity, but then the next day you ask a question, i'd answer it (if i could). Or if you made a particularly interesting topic i'd 5 it.

My current favourite word is: Bacon!

Hey, I'm all for people redeeming themselves. I moved it away; it's others who are bringing it back here. If you don't like it, don't read it--which was the point of moving it.

True. I suppose we should try not to make such a big deal of it, myself included.

That's why I am frustrated. I moved it completely away so people who don't like it didn't have to read it. But some are going there anyhow, and then are offended by this crazy notion of Free Speech. I've said if someone redeems themselves, or I need to review an individual, I'm big enough to remove a person from the list. But for someone to directly bring it back here (I'm not worried about the other thread because that was pretty neutral to start) just puts me in a position that I didn't want to be in the first place. You can't tell me to take it elsewhere, bring it up and then get mad at me for what I did on another site. Nish should have emailed me privately or posted something on my blog--not here.

How about a ham & cheese smiley?  Mmmm... lightly toasted ham and cheese with crisp lettuce, juicy tomato and a bag o' Cape Cod chips. /ravi

If I had your email address, I would have. And I didn't think of posting a blog comment, I don't normally read your blog - I just got to it because of that other big thread earlier today. I think your point is that it's your private list on your private blog. But you do have it mentioned on your signature here. The guy (d@nish) is just 22 and he's a very useful contributor on this site. Imagine how he'd feel if he lost out on a job opportunity or a CP MVP award because someone saw your list and saw his nickname listed there! If your list included names like Christian Graus, Ravi Bhavnani or Hans D, people may not take it seriously. But the majority of people on that list are established idiots or troublemakers on CP. So to have his name associated with such a list is unfair to him on so many levels. Right now you are annoyed about this being made a fuss of in the Lounge. But try and think from his perspective or from the perspective of new CPians who see your list (via the signature on your posts). Please do remove him from that list as early as possible.

                                          Regards, Nish
