That's why I am frustrated. I moved it completely away so people who don't like it didn't have to read it. But some are going there anyhow, and then are offended by this crazy notion of Free Speech. I've said if someone redeems themselves, or I need to review an individual, I'm big enough to remove a person from the list. But for someone to directly bring it back here (I'm not worried about the other thread because that was pretty neutral to start) just puts me in a position that I didn't want to be in the first place. You can't tell me to take it elsewhere, bring it up and then get mad at me for what I did on another site. Nish should have emailed me privately or posted something on my blog--not here.

If I had your email address, I would have. And I didn't think of posting a blog comment, I don't normally read your blog - I just got to it because of that other big thread earlier today. I think your point is that it's your private list on your private blog. But you do have it mentioned on your signature here. The guy (d@nish) is just 22 and he's a very useful contributor on this site. Imagine how he'd feel if he lost out on a job opportunity or a CP MVP award because someone saw your list and saw his nickname listed there! If your list included names like Christian Graus, Ravi Bhavnani or Hans D, people may not take it seriously. But the majority of people on that list are established idiots or troublemakers on CP. So to have his name associated with such a list is unfair to him on so many levels. Right now you are annoyed about this being made a fuss of in the Lounge. But try and think from his perspective or from the perspective of new CPians who see your list (via the signature on your posts). Please do remove him from that list as early as possible.

If you are really concerned about this (and personally I think you're right about leckey mis-reading the guy's post), then you should contact leckey directly. Eh... The problem is, you exercise your free speech on your blog, but it's prompting your targets to exercise their free speech here. They don't need any encouragement. I'm sorry, but i really don't see how this helps anything - at best, you're taking people who have no shame or common sense, and giving them the exposure they so desperately crave; at worst, you're taking the metaphorical cans of worms from the other forums and scattering their contents behind you as you travel through here. Don't misunderstand - i understand the motivation. I joined this site over six years ago with the goal of answering questions as a way of giving back to the community that had helped me get on my feet as a new developer; now, i rarely answer questions at all because of the utter laziness and disrespect rampant on the programming forums. You reference CP directly. So in other words, if it's fair game for you to mention CP related stuff in your blog, others will consider it fair game to mention your blog content here. I don't see any way of avoiding that, especially since the list seems to be provocative to some/many here.

I agree with you on this whole heartedly Shog, but in Leckey's defense she wasn't the one that moved the battleground from there to here. I'm not blaming the thread starter for doing so, he just pointed it out.

It does feel frustrating. Last year, I attempted to be active in the forums but I gave up after a few months because, as you said, its incredible the lameness of some of these questions. So I moved on. For leckey, this is just venting off some steam on her home ground no less.
