How many of you reach/must-reach for work ON TIME? Does your boss make it a point that you are there on time? Does your company/team follow in-time & out-times? Or it's just all about finishing the task without any specific office timings? [Those lucky Work-from-homErs may ignore this :| ]

I once had a contract with the NHS in England where the edict was no more than 35.5 hours per week would be paid. They then said I could average the hours over a month, I was in heaven. I normally work 50-55 hours in a week so I had at least 1 long weekend a month - bliss.

I am on flexible time and work 7 hours (not counting breaks) somewhere between 0600 and 2000. I may work up to 10 hours per working day, with the overtime being booked into my time account, which allows -25 to 250 hours. If I have more than 250 hours, I can transfer up to 150 hours into my lifetime account, which I can either use when I retire or have it cashed out when I quit/retire. The time account may be used up without specific notice, but I need to file for whole days in advance.

Cheers, Sebastian -- "If it was two men, the non-driver would have challenged the driver to simply crash through the gates. The macho image thing, you know." - Marc Clifton

We're on flex-time, so our arrival/departure times vary. We are supposed to be here during the "core hours" of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. I usually arrive at work at about 6:15 a.m. and work until 4:00 p.m. I take a long lunch break (usually 90 minutes) to go running or to lift weights in our fitness room.

Currenty, we pay all our employees salary (all are FTE, no contractors/PT) so we have established work hours from 8AM - 4:30PM, although we have some who we adjusted based on circumstances (mine are 7:30AM - 4PM). We expect people to be on time, do thier work and leave on time. We do very LITTLE overtime (as in none), and I can't think of a time I've had anyone work late or on a weekend...

core hours are 9-4 (minus an hour for lunch) with free choice of which side of the core to put your last two. Management wants pro forma notification if you're working something other than 8 to 5. If something happens and I'm late/have to arrive early one day as long as I have 40hrs by the end of the pay period I don't need to use any leave. Standard weasel working about not being able to use core hours to avoid client meetings applies. While salaried, federal contracting regulations require you actually work 40hrs/week if you're billing that many so going home early every day during a slow period isn't an option.

You know, every time I tried to win a bar-bet about being able to count to 1000 using my fingers I always got punched out when I reached 4.... -- El Corazon

My company is flexible; my boss comes in after 8am so he can drop off his daughter at day-care and miss the bad morning traffic. Last week we had a really nice day and almost everyone left early.

I show up whenever I want. Usually this is between 10:00AM and 11:00AM but this morning I was here at 7:00AM (when I can not sleep I go to work...)

... and then leave early because you've developed an acute case of Qwertyitis a few hours later?

 Had to google that one. No I usually manage to stay awake during the day although I admit it is a little difficult today. Either way I am trying to get out of here before 4 instead of my usual 6 to 7.
