Why was your account moved to a restricted area?
No idea. I didn't do any strange thing. The problem that I faced earlier is that they doesn't allow me to change my name and they said that the name from paypal account and the name from bank account must be the same. (The reason why I have two names is that my birth name is not a English name. So, people who don't speak in my native language find it so hard to call my name. So, I use my English name all the time.. but all official documents, certification, bank accout and etc are with my birth name. ) So, I opened new account with the name that I used for my bank account and move the money from one account to another.. I have only one credit card. so, I did adding and removing my credit card from one account to another... (I can't use the same credit card for both account. ) that's all that i did. Those are just normal transactions, right? but now. they block me :( I mean, it's okay if they block me but if I phoned to their customer support (I can go there if they need), they should enable my account immediately. but why 5 or 7 buz days?? :(

I'm not so sure why Paypal is so popular.... Their support is really suck.. If a company like PayPal comes with good support, I think a lot of people will start using online transaction with that company...

I wanna withdraw my money asap. btw, I called to their support (Singapore) but they said that i need to fax some docs and need to get reviewed... and also, I have to wait for 5 to 7 business days.. :(

Paypal sucks, I would never leave money in there.

I hate to say this, but if you are in Singapore you are in the automatic "watch list" countries suspected of money laundering. Do you have direct ties to the US? If so, you might be able to set up a savings or checking account in the US that is less likely to fall into a category like this.

No. man.. Can I know the requirement of opening a bank account in US? Do I need to stay in US to open a bank account in US? Can I open online? I'm currently using CitiBank in Singapore. I heard that they have a lot of branches in US too..

I support that. Though a little involved process, it is more safer and reliable.

Paypal/eBay seems to have started some unit in Chennai, India. Just last week, while driving on the Old Mahabalipuram Road, I saw their huge office. And the employees' transportation services bus is fully airconditioned. They seem to give a princely treatment for their employees at the expense of customers.

Wait, you're talking about taking business payments? I thought we were talking about personal use. Our company uses ShareIt, one of the zillion or so almost identical services all bought out by Digital River so I'm guessing if you went directly to Digital River's website and perused all the various payment services they now own you might find a good match for your business. DR bought pretty much every single independant payment processor over the last 10 years or so.

but it take times. Like 5 to 7 business days.. (In Singapore, local cross-bank transfer used to take 2 days normally. ) Another thing is that we can't check whether the client send the payment or not before 7 days.. sometimes, we don't wanna wait and just wanna check immediately. :)

Why don't you check their website?
Sometimes, asking the user directly is much better than reading the doc. For example: Once upone a time, CitiBank make a promotion that allows everybody who got more SG$20K/year to apply credit cards.(normally, 60K/year) In their website, they wrote the same thing. So, One of my friend from Myanmar wanted to apply one credit card so that we went there and tried to apply.. But the stuff said that this promotion is not for people from Myanmar. Oh.. I was wondering why... at least, they should wrote like that in their site..

Personally we've been using it for years for Ebay stuff mainly and I've never had an issue with it. I find it easy and convenient.

Yes. I also felt the same earlier.. When I received the reply from Paypal saying that they are not able to change my name, I feel not liking them. 1) I don't see any reason why they couldn't allow me to change my name. 2) I don't see any reason why the name from Paypal account and the name from Bank account should be matched. Normally, Bank Account Number is the important thing. Not name. Note: I'm using premium account so that I'm also paying some charges whenever I transfer my money... And also, I'm cool with that. Now, Like I said, they blocked me. I understand that they are protecting me from hackers or etc.. but I already phoned to them and I told them that I can come and show the required doc to their office. But they don't accept me. :( Another thing is that they don't tell me the exact reason why my account is being locked.

What's so wrong in treating the employees good? And that is at the expense of customers? How do you say that? A customer pays them for their service and after the money is paid, it is no more the customer's money. It is paypal's money and they can do whatever they want to, with it. Taking care of the employees is a good thing IMHO.
