What would you name this class? [modified]

Ummmm... I think the CP community just killed your server... scalability issues, anyone? In any case... nice name choice! Is your K&R also still sitting next to you in a bookshelf? Mine is (next to me, that is). :-)

(This is not a programming question). I have a bunch of
Foo
objects, all of which are controlled by aFooManager
. What would you name an object that controls a collection ofFooManager
s? [edit]Foo
,FooManager
and the manager ofFooManager
s are all processes in a distributed system. [/edit] [edit] John C is right - this really does belong in the Design forum. I might have actually got more than a couple of useful answers if I'd posted there in the first place. :-D [/edit] Thanks, /raviMy new year resolution: 2048 x 1536 Home | Articles | My .NET bits | Freeware ravib(at)ravib(dot)com

Nah... DNS lookup failure - route66.net name servers seem down. Not your fault (?).

You all bitch and moan when someone posts a programming question here, I point out quite rightly that we have a design forum and you vote me down and proceed to answer Ravi. Away and raffle your donuts!

You have my sympathy and apologies. I suppose we're all suffer from OCD when it comes to naming (there's a quite recent thread on that), so we replied without thinking. Voting you down seems a bit rash harsh, though. I'm innocent (of that, at least)!

WhyTF did you start with that stupid name in the first place? And just what does 'Foo' mean anyway? You probably dont knmow, and you just use it because you think it makes you look cool because you read it in some crappy SW book written by an American, because, god knows, only an American would ever use it anyway. Fuck I hate computer nerdyness.

In general magical lore, some schools believe learning the true name of any entity give the magician full control over that entity. I believe that actually applies to a significant extent in OOD.
