13 years to get to v1. Well, congrats to them. Sure was a long time in the coming.

I do have a more serious question: Is it done, or'd they run out of space for additional 9's to the right of the decimal?

I never have got the release number bit anyway, oh I know the intent but since it's value is determined by marketeers, and it has been ever thus, it follows that they're arbitrary. I reckon we should use date e.g the Firefox 20080611 (Wednesday, 11 June 2008 19:16:56 is the timestamp on the Digital Signature) dontya hate it when Fx loses the caret like it just done to me, wish they'd fixed the bugs instead of changing things that weren't broke.

The date is true. I like it that there is a Ubuntu 810, 804, 710, 704, ... Major en minors don't say that much anymore today.

StijnDP wrote "Major en minors don't say that much anymore today." tell me when they did mate, not in my years in IT, and that's a tad over 40. A date tells you something - Mucrosift have half done it with VS and Office, but they wont stick to it, e.g. Windows 98, Win2000, Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7

Orson Wells, for Paul Mason wine. Large imposing actor with a dark suit and a goatee, sitting at a small cafe table with a glass of wine. In a deep rumbling voice he proclaims " At Paul Mason vineyards, we will sell no wine...(dramatic pause that would make James Lipton jealous) before it's time".... que soft drama music with a fade to black. Ah, ya gotta love the classics.

It was Orson Wells who said, "We will release no wine before its time...". I believe the commercial was made for Gallo Wines...

often connected to phrases like: "I just got a great idea" or "sure I can do that" or best of all "Hey Ya'll, Watch this !!" (having grown up in Georgia, these proclamations of daring do are familiar to me)

Nothing like serving up a bottle of Boones Farm Tickled Pink, which after a while become "Pickled Tink", to whatever woman you're with on a hot summer night.

I'm not familiar with that variety. Sounds good though. So what's the proper protocol for serving it up? I'm guessing the bottle should stay in the brown paper bag...?
