It was Orson Wells who said, "We will release no wine before its time...". I believe the commercial was made for Gallo Wines...

Oliver Wendall? Odysseus Wright? Olphert Wreston? Help, it's driving me mad.... Orson Wilde? Right? :)

Although there is a Paul Mason winery, the big man used to advertise for Paul Masson wine.

Orson Wells, for Paul Mason wine. Large imposing actor with a dark suit and a goatee, sitting at a small cafe table with a glass of wine. In a deep rumbling voice he proclaims " At Paul Mason vineyards, we will sell no wine...(dramatic pause that would make James Lipton jealous) before it's time".... que soft drama music with a fade to black. Ah, ya gotta love the classics.

          It was actually Paul Masson.

It's time was the very second after they got it in the bottle.

Yep. spelling goof, thanks for the correction. you're right about the wine too. That stuff didn't even have time to stop swirling in the bottle before it was on a store shelf. Boones' Farm had nothing on these guys.

often connected to phrases like: "I just got a great idea" or "sure I can do that" or best of all "Hey Ya'll, Watch this !!" (having grown up in Georgia, these proclamations of daring do are familiar to me)

Nothing like serving up a bottle of Boones Farm Tickled Pink, which after a while become "Pickled Tink", to whatever woman you're with on a hot summer night.

I'm not familiar with that variety. Sounds good though. So what's the proper protocol for serving it up? I'm guessing the bottle should stay in the brown paper bag...?

Well, you can start in a brown paper bag if you wish but, after a while, it really won't matter... :)
