SC: DA - Kane & Lynch - Assassin's Creed - Rant & Suggestions
-
Just finished Splinter Cell: Double Agent last weekend. Was DISAPPOINTED! I was awake till 2.30 in the morning, as the game was getting more and more gripping. Then suddenly, the game ended. I had to diffuse a bomb in the building and after I diffused it successfully the mission was over and the credits started rolling! WTF! Anybody here played that game? What was your experience? What happened to all the other fugitives??? That was last weekend. I got myself 2 more games yesterday - Kane and Lynch: Dead Men & Assassin's Creed. Installed Kane & Lynch first - game looks good - lots-of-blood-and-lots-of-people-to-kill type. Any suggestions which one should I play first from the two? My next game will be the Half-Life 2 series - any reviews will be appreciated.

Definitely Assassin's Creed. The game simply rocks, IMHO ;) And yeah...good planning ahead with HL2 series on the pipeline. I finished HL2 and HL2: Episode One. Sadly though, never seen HL2: Episode 2 release here. Wonder why :sigh:

**I've played HL and thought it was a fantastic game, started HL2 but then exams go in the way and I haven't returned back to it, preferring Test Drive Unlimited and Call of Duty 4 at the moment. I would highly recommend Crysis, if you're computer can handle it that is. Seriously, you won't be disappointed by the ending, it's the same but so very different to any other game I've played. It's so much fun creeping into the middle of a group of KLA cloaked and using a silenced weapon to knock them off one at a time and then re-cloaking while watching them run around like lunatics. If you're computer isn't at least meeting the recommended requirements then in my opinion there's not much point in trying. For example the recommended requirements are Core 2 Duo / Athlon X2 or better, 1.5GB RAM, NVIDIA 7800 or better, 512MB Graphics. Even with a nVidia 8800 series graphics card the game still gives the computer a battering, basically Crysis will scale to anything you throw at it. It's ridiculous how much power it can use if it's got it available.
I doubt it. If it isn't intuitive then we need to fix it. - Chris Maunder

Yep. I have that - Core 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz, 3 GB Ram, 256 MB NVidia graphic card. But I don't think I'll try to install Crysis if it uses as much power as it gets coz I've already got one piece of software that does exactly that - Vista :-D

**Well the system I completed it on was an Athlon X2 2.0GHz overclocked to 2.2, 3GB RAM and 320MB nVidia 8800GTS. I did have to turn the resolution down because it initially tried to run it at 1680x1050 (22" widescreen monitor) but was able to keep the quality reasonably high without a problem. This was running on vista Ultimate x64 and there were no issues, apart from needing to update nVidia drivers because whenever I went into the sniper scope-mode everything would go white. Resolution turned down for that issue and then was able to pull it back up when the drivers had been released which fixed the issue.

**Assassin's Creed is supposed to be a pretty good game. Not certain about Kane and Lynch. Half-Life 2 is definitely worth it. Bought The Orange Box for my PS3 and never regretted it. Hadn't played HL2 or either of the episodes, so it was all new to me. Portal rocks. :) Flynn

:) Interesting concept. Presuambly involves dismantling it and then spreading the components over a wide area. Problem is, the first touch and it's quite like to dismantle you! Maybe you meant "defuse a bomb", which would be more conventional?
