Not a programming question Do any of of you recommend one? I evaluated SpreadsheetGear, and would use it if wasn't so pricey!

There's a number of vendors that have Excel products like that, and I evaluated them a couple years back. http://www.gemboxsoftware.com/GBSpreadsheetFree.htm[^] is a link to the free version of a spreadsheet product. Their library not as well-featured as what the bigger vendors give, and the main purpose of their free library is to get you to upgrade to their paid library, but it's pretty decent anyway.

I haven't been able to find a competitor to SpreadsheetGear, so I can't comment on the others - but SpreadsheetGear is TOTALLY worth it. Take a spare time job for a month, whatever it takes - if your product relies on spreadsheet functionality - whether that be reliably readining or writing XLS files, or having an actual spreadsheet view - it is totally 99.5%* worth the money. * The 0.5% is the missing ability to do a drag fill when you've selected cells. Oh how badly I want that!! - Phil

Control, not one that makes me write one.

It's too expensive for my budget of $0.00.
