I've just come across this article[^] on how to convert your XBox TV cable to a VGA cable. However, it requires butchering the TV cable just to get the XBox connector. Is this a proprietary connector that is otherwise unavailable, or can I just rather buy one and follow the connection instructions. I still want my TV cable as well as a new VGA cable.

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a XBox 360 VGA cable pre-made? :) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-360-Audio-Video-Cable/dp/B000AYYADE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1217581460&sr=8-1[^]

It is. I'm dying to buy a soldering iron and make something again. I used to be an electronics tech. However, my main issue was that the original article cited a price of $40 for the cable. That's close to ZAR 300, or nearly three cases of beer.
