What is "scratch" and why can everything be made from it?
I thought Swordfish was pretty lame. The General's Daughter was dumb. Bandits sucked. Monster's Ball was way overhyped - you shouldn't give Oscars based on orgasm-faking ability. etc.
To explain Donald Knuth's relevance to computing is like explaining Paul's relevance to the Catholic Church. He isn't God, he isn't the Son of God, but he was sent by God to explain God to the masses.

That's easy. Battlefield Earth. Easily the most intelligence insulting movie of all time. There have been movies where I left thinking that I could have better spent that $13.50 elsewhere, but BE... I actually stood in the theatre lobby and considered asking for my money back!

Usually the most recent - so for me, it's "What women want". A storyline so shallow you wonder how they could drown a bright idea and 1 1/2 good actors in it. Most dissatisfying: "A Couch in New York" (not entirely hollywood, but much to close). Two actors I almost adore for what they can do - Binoche for her expressiveness, her eloign charm, and Hurt for his non-acting that is much more (for me) than the León-style non-acting. But Binoche isn't a good choice for the french innocent (If you've seen her saving the absolutely terrible Code inconnu, her performance in Divan is barely a joke). And Hurt - Hurt needs a good movie to shine ("good" in the europan artsy-fartsy sense).

Definately "a simple plan" The acting was crap, the story line was full of holes and soooo predictable, and the actress who played the annoying wife was too good at it....:mad: X| "worst movie EVAR":-D

"Behind Enemy Lines" beats them all. Michel It is a lovely language, but it takes a very long time to say anything in it, because we do not say anything in it, unless it is worth taking a very long time to say, and to listen to.

I've seen to much of it, it was a "cheap production" by all means of the plot: Make a checklist "this goes in, this goes in", to predictable, steering clear of all problems that might arise, oh so complicated problems pile up like camle sh*t, then vanish in a poof of Chanel dust like it ever does in a cheap movie (the old gree had their "deus ex machina" for this), no esprit in the story besides the initial idea. But that's just me, I can rarely enjoy a hollywood film.
