It's time for a Sci-fi top 10 movie list. I'll start Sunshine Pitch Black 5th Element Serenity what would you add?

Of all the movies mentioned in the thread, one omitted was "Enemy Mine" starring Dennis Quaid and Lou Gosset Jr. The effects were quite low budget, but the script and the acting was absolutely outstanding.

      I lost my epiphany.

Pitch Black Aliens The Hidden The Thing (John Carpenter's 1982 version) War of the Worlds (The 1953 classic) The Andromeda Strain (The original & the A&E remake) Stargate (and a BIG THANKS for its launch of the TV storylines) Felix De La Torre, Jr., aka, DLT

Fair do's and agreement on Logan's Run. Man, I loved Farrah and Jenny Agutter in that film.

Thank you guys. I was wondering if someone would suggest some of the movies from your lists. 2001 - A Space Odyssey Alien(s) Logan's Run Solaris Soylent Green I would add The Andromeda Strain (1971) I think this message node is written and maintained by old (40-55) classic SF lovers. some fine films listed in all these posts, I'd have to add 'Silent running' to the list a real classic.

Well for a start, I wouldn't have lamers like those two (and I can count up to 10 - you stopped at 4). Instead, and in no particular order: Alien Terminator Predator The Empire Strikes Back Blade Runner 5th Element The Matrix Invasion of the Body Snatchers The Day the Earth Stood Still Aliens
