Where did they resort to that? Give specific examples citing the page number of the report and the exact mistake that these engineers made, if you please. Otherwise I'll just have to write you off as one more crank with no knowledge of physics who hasn't even bothered to read the report. Bah, who am I kidding. I've already written you off, but feel free to prove me wrong.

Felt the same here. I was in a lot of disbelief about it until I saw the headlines in the paper the next day. That is about when reality really set in for me. And remembering seeing people jumping out of the building was pretty bad, too. No judging their decision to do so. What angers me more than 9/11 is all of the conspiracy b.s. that float around it.

I never thought I'd see someone hawking an 'Extra' edition of a newspaper on the street.

I didn't say anything about hawking an extra paper. I did have the L.A. Times delivered to me at that time. I still have the front page of 9/12's paper, and also when the Angels won the World Series in '02, along with Mark McGwire breaking Roger Maris's homerun record. Those were all at the time when I actually wasted money subscribing to a newspaper.

So in the US NIST has finally released its report on why World Trade Center building 7 collapsed into its own footprint in around 7 seconds on the afternoon of Sept 11 2001. Thermal expansion hey, who would have thunk it. Frankly who would believe it? :suss:

Ruled out by the fact that pancaking would simply have been too slow to match the observed collapse time and could not have occured symetrically in an asymetrically reinforced building with asymetrical fires. Even without the unexplained molten metal and eye witness testimonies of multiple eplosions and a demolition countdown this would be a pathetically inadequate explanation. Albeit that they had next to no physical evidence to go on as the crime scene was cleared without forensic examination.

No he's dead wrong, no reponse is required. He's deliberately using nut job specious arguments and non-sequiters so it's humerous but also utterly ineffectual. I disbelieve the official 9/11 conspiracy theory not because some kid made a video and told me to. I disbelieve it because it's an utter pile of bull from begining to end, transparently so to anyone honest enough to think about it rationally. I deal with complex systems every day, I have worked closely with people who build tower blocks, I have been in the cockpit of a 747 and a 737, I have a sufficient grasp of physics to get an A Level and to understand roughly what they're up to at CERN. In short I'm a reasonably intelligent and educated person. I don't claim to be an expert on building collapses, structural engineering, controlled demolition, air traffic control or media manipulation but I can point you at hundreds of people who are[^] and who also, like me, refuse to be led by the nose to accept a convenient lie. How can those responsible get away with it? Precisely because most people have the same attitudes as those expressed here, 'my government wouldn't do that', 'it's too complicated too understand', 'I'm not self confident enough to argue with the EXPERTS on TV', 'I've got more important things to worry about than whether my country is actually run by mass murdering psychopaths.', 'It's a conspiracy theory therefore it must be wrong' etc etc. The bottom line is that traumatised people will accept the first convenient lie told them to explain their trauma and most will not only never question it unless prompted but will defend the lie they have believed even against all reason.
