Tequila Lime Salsa recipe
-
I'm not posting a recipe, I'm looking for one. I've found a couple on the net but they appear to be copies of the same one and I don't like the corn they're calling for. I have a general idea of what to put in it: tequila, lime, jalapenos, green chilis, white onion, tomatillos, yellow tomato puree, maybe cilantro. What I don't know is the portions. Anyone got a good recipe for tequila lime salsa?

10oz of tequila, drink, fast Dump whatever is in the fridge in a bowl and call it salsa. You won't really know the difference if you are still standing. Actually, salsa is one of those things that is really best made by taste. Also, I prefer fresh diced tomatoes to any sort of puree. Keep salt on the table instead of in the salsa so people can salt to taste.

Well, that's a given.

Yeah, but I don't really want to waste any tequila while perfecting the recipe. So, I was hoping somebody already had one.

I'm on a no sodium diet so salt was out anyway.

A jar of good dark beer. A tequila "caballito" (a two to three ounce glass 3 to 4 inches tall). One lime. Salt. A phone and, optionally, friends. Before adding beer to the jar, rub the lime over its border. Then spread some salt over a plate, and put the jar upside down within the plate, so that the salt sticks in the jar's border. Add the dark beer into it. Add the rest of the lime to the caballito glass. Then carefully put the caballito within the jar and do not mix it. Stand up and tell your friends: "para todos y para siempre"*. Take a deep breath and drink it all at once (just be careful about the glass). Finally, get the phone and call 911 for aid, before you fall. That's the recipe for a Submarine. If you dare, use mezcal instead of tequila. * Optionally, "for everyone and forever", "Per tutti e per sempre", "Für alles und für immer", etc.

Yeah, that's the same one I keep finding. I have objections with the corn and avacado. What started this whole thing is I just finished off a jar of Pace's Tequila Lime Salsa. It was quite good, but was expensive at the grovery store. I'm pretty sure I could make some that was cheaper per ounce. I'm probably just going to have to start experimenting.

The Pace's jar probably lists the ingredients, right? Post it here if you come up with a good one.
Best wishes, Hans
