Thanks for that, Paul. I was actually being sarcastic and suggesting that the Flash site was a little too much. Cheers, Simon "Sign up for a chance to be among the first to experience the wrath of the gods.", Microsoft's home page (24/06/2002)

Now stop being sarcastic and clean the dishes." and I do... ;P Of course she loves me for who I am, but if I don't give an inch, she won't give an inch and then I will have to live with her funny moods and cannot say anything about it because I don't give-and-take on the sarcasm issue. Dear God, I hope that does not represent the future! If there is anything I detest it is frustrated artists who decide to start programming. I want consistancy in the UI's I use damnit, not creativity! X| I'm not a real reverend, I just play one on CP.

boring... What is wrong with something new, if it is a one time read? It isn't like it is an interface that you have to use on a regular basis. That would be an extremely annoying interface to a word processor, but it is just a colection of marketing info. Ryan Johnston

I appreciate the talent involved with this site, but my opinion is based upon a long standing principle. I like being creative as much as the next guy, but I am first and foremost an engineer. Engineering *should* be boring. We should strive to use standardized, well engineered parts everywhere we can, just like grown-up engineers do, especially where the UI is concerned. Furthermore, I use a web site typically to find information, not to be entertained. I want to find that information in the most efficient manner possible, I don't want to see someone's concept of art. I want a clean, standarized template which allows me to quickly navigate to what I am looking for. :rose: I'm not a real reverend, I just play one on CP.

How then, does someone present their information more attractively? I mean there is a large segement of the web that is used for commercial promotion. This site in particular is promoting its self as a graphic design firm. I think it would be a little sad if a graphic design firm had a standarized template web site. I think any source of reference material should be in a clean easily readable standard format, but product adverstizement should be in a different classification. To use "engineering" principles for advertising just dirties engineering in my opinion (you grubby advertising folks keep your hands off!). Ryan Johnston
