Dalek Dave's post below reminded me of the movie Office Space which famously had the scene where they took a nasty laser printer out to a field and smashed it to pieces with baseball bats, but in some ways I think it would be more satisfying to throw something into a big wood chipper and watch the bits blow out the other end. What would be the most satisfying way to get out some aggression on a despised piece of office equipment?

Either something agonizingly slow. That way it can see just how I felt every day waiting for a document to print. Some weak acid or other corrosive, a nice beer... perhaps an IPA or APA, a warm sunny day that I could just sit out, watch, and relax. If not slow then quick, beat of the heart quick. You know, how fast it SHOULD be when I want to get things done and am in a hurry. Like dropping it off a cliff, that way it can continue to get faster and faster until its terminal end. But with my luck it would bounce.

Well, a LONG time ago, back in the age of MS-DOS ... we had a IBM server that was nothing short of SUCK. When our, then, little company finally managed to scrape the funds together to replace it, one of the guys at the office took it to the parking lot in the back, and proceeded to unload his 9mm into it. He looked rather satisfied, I must say; and just watching it made me feel all warm-and-fuzzy like.

I can see it all now: the printer slowly melting as it spews out page after page with increasingly larger font: "I'm not a witch, I'm not a witch!"

I prefer to haul it into the desert and unload about 6 magazines into it with an AK-47. Very satisfying, though admittedly tedious to clean up.

 "a despised piece of ... colleagues" I'm picturing taking offense at someone's too-long nose and swatting at with a ping-pong paddle...or however else you might want to attack an offending portion of your colleague's personage.
