Does that mean pretty much everyone in the Netherlands is in trouble? National average height (men): 184 (6'0.44") (Jan. 2008)

I knew being 5'3" would come in handy one day. Now if only my family's medical history wasn't plagued with cancer, we'd be in business.

Damn. If I cut my legs off, would that decrease my chances of getting cancer?

Yeah. 6'2" here. Some of the pinpads for badge readers here are angled up others are flat against the wall; they're all mounted at wheel chair level. They also have a very limited viewing angle to prevent shoulder surfing. I filed a complaint in the (de facto) universal tracker because I can't read the flat ones without either bending over or putting my knees in a semi crouch position. The response I eventually got back was "no action, the current config is ADA approved." Rumor is the entire system is going to be upgraded in the semi-near future; if they'd've just said something on the line of "no action is being taken at this time, but your concerns will be considered when the replacement is installed" I'd've been fine. As is, when I saw the official drop dead reply i was very briefly tempted to 'develop a back problem' and refile again on those grounds.

Say you sprained your back and are unable to use the keypad. Call security every day to let you in. It will get fixed quickly. Of course, in retrospect, I would rather have to stoop to enter a key pad than to be in a wheelchair ... the should really provide both key pads.

The pads that are tilted up are usable at the current height, it's only the ones flat on the wall that are a problem. The two pads that were installed as part of the ongoing lobby redesign are the angled variety. I don't know if that's happenstance, or if they've decided to honor my request on new install/upgrades but just don't want to admit it. OTOH those are pads that you only need to enter your pin (as opposed to just swiping) after hours. While the problem pads on the lab entrance require a pin every time despite the fact that you can't even get to that door without entering your pin in a mantrap first. I only have to use the offending flat pads a half dozen to a dozen times per month. If I worked in the lab, and was in and out repeatedly every day, I'd've made a stink a long time ago.
