Steve, put him out his misery, I know you got it, He got it first, but he doesn't have the solution. Fill him in, I cannot act in this.

Done. I was thinking of "ether" as the anaesthetic but "ethernet" was too long and I got stuck!

And Dave can't count! "Economic woes currently follows anaesthetic, then hesitates to produce a super Computer?" (6,8 not 7) Anaesthetic = number economic woes = crunch hesitates = er

Put SOLUTION in your subject line. Well done (with help). (Although, Economic Woes Currently is Crunch. I try to ensure EVERY word is used)

You have the Right answer and get a load of Bonus Man Points, but you didn't give the solution. Number Cruncher is right, see below for Solution).

I was originally clueing as Crunchers, (I was going with Cray Twins) had cruncher in mind (eight leters) took the S off crunchers and obviously arrived at 7! Tuesdays Brain seems to be firing on 3 cylinders! Apologies for Dim Setter Problem.

I think it is a bit more than that - The exterminator will let us know I'm sure I think it is a combination of anesthetic and hesitation. Anesthetic provides the "numb" and "er" is the hesitation.
