Hey - seeing as we've now got lamp.codeproject.com, java.codeproject.com and sql.codeproject.com, why not have oracle.codeproject.com? I reckon there's easily enough Oracle-specific stuff out there to make it well worthwhile, it would be much more useful than having to wade through the thousands of SQL Server-specific messages and articles. And it's not like nobody uses Oracle with .NET. .Net usage in large orgganisations is increasing by miles these days, and most large business-critical apps use Oracle, particularly in the megacorps. Any thoughts? (shields head with SQL manual)...

I don't use oracle at my current job, but I did at my previous one, and resources on it were rather sparse. Particularly when combined with .net. So I suppose that's a yes vote from me.

Because the site should be more generic and not specific to any particular database. The oracle discussions (general, sql related and not specific to something that belongs to oracle) can take place in sql board, if I'm not wrong.

Because then every question and every resource on CP would be devoted to answering tnsnames.ora questions.

Well that was kind of my point. There are a lot of features which are not shared between the products. It doesn't make sense to put them together when there's so little crossover.

I think we'd have a better turnout at iPhone.codeproject.com. :-D
