Usuall, I'm the one cited for hatred and racism (by people that don't know the definition of either word). I'm not jealous.

As you have seen, there is plenty of racism around here. They will say that "I have jewish friends" and "I have black neighbours" to justify who knows what political correctness hypocrisy and then begin to throw bigoted generalizations at you. They will ask you to thank them for slaving you, exterminating you, colonizing you. They will persecute and harrass you if they find a typo in your post. Indians are the blame-all around here thanks to Simmons and other bitter souls. My advice is that you move on and ignore these guys. There is really nothing that you can do to help them anyway and, if you stop to think about it, their opinions say a lot about them and not a single thing about anything or anyone else.

No, The British Ruled you for so many years because of all your in-fighting and internecine politics. Once you actually combined and started making it work , we left. ALthough we left a lot behind. Language, Government, Civil Service, Transport, You can walk the streets at night, Education, The Wine, don't forget the wine, and apart from that , What did the Romans British ever do for you!

Well, historically speaking it needed alcohol which I believe discovered by a Persian called Razi (aka. Rhazes): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhazes[^] Wikipedia about wine: "...[wine] is thought to have originated in areas now within the borders of Israel, Georgia and Iran." Both of them are talking about east probably. :-D Cheers.

If this is the case, shut CP for asian origin programmers, or everytime they register , give them a english online test. CP should stop telling everyone that we are having largest no of members. may be 80% are just indians. CP , please hire someone who keep on deleting such messages which offend people here and which are poorly written.

Ok chaps, can someone either ban meenakumar for his aggressive postings? some of which include hatred and racist comments and should be removed from these forum. This is (or was) a polite forum for topical discussion which seems to have degraded (mainly at this persons encouragement) into a war of words, some of which might be considered very offensive to parties reading this site. Or better still lock this entire thread to anymore postings.

but I have lost count of how many developers of any culture and race that think they are "Programmers" that are no where near it, it goes back to the "oh ive read a few books and googled a couple of programs so that makes me a senior developer" type person.. I had one in my previous job, he blagged his way in the position to attain senior developer role for 5 years b4 he was found out as useless, we all knew he was useless but because he took credit for other peoples work and was the "senior" guy nobody could go against him.. Now I am not being racist in any way with this remark, but he was Indian. Subsequently I have worked with many Indian Subcontracting companies, all have not delivered on time, delivered poor code, sometimes of primary school quality, always delivered late, even when they have the most complete specifications in front of them, yes it might be tarring all indian programmers with the same brush but that is my experiences!! I do believe theire are some excellent indian programmers and i dont dispute that (some work for Microsoft i believe) but I do not appreciate people that call themselves developers, that think they know it all, that think they are gods gift, all because they have studied a book and bought a qualification off an online training site.

Here, more than anywhere else i've been, you are judged on your words and abilities rather than appearance or nationality. Programmers of every race and creed work together here, helping each other. Your generalizations are nothing more than your problem. Help yourself by taking a moment to try to understand this. It might help you to consider the "crime" of the original poster. His feelings were hurt by the way Indians are spoken of around here. At the time of this response, some 21 people have voted down (vetoed, rather) his post. How does that make any sense? He is not even given the right to feel bad about the insults hurled at him.

Please don't get me wrong, it's not the English here that i have a problem with, it's the fact that they are having a problem, that they obviously want fixed, but have not provided a full explanation of what the problem is. There are an unfortunate number of messages which are along the lines of "I got this error XX, please help". This kind of message does not contain enough information to figure out what caused the problem - a lot of these people don't seem to understand that when debugging, getting the cause of the problem is often a lot more important than the actual error. I find this sort of thing to be fairly fundamental.

Our problems aren't with Indians or Indian companies. There are several fantastic Indian developers who regularly contribute to this site who are the equal of anybody. Our problems are with incompetent and lazy programmers. Unfortunately, if you take a look at the ASP.NET forum, there are so many basic questions from Indian programmers who ask for solutions to very simple problems. They don't look things up on Google. They demand instant answers by telling us it's urgent - well whoop-de-frickin'-do for you chummy, who cares? They downvote you if you don't provide fully working solutions for them? They lack basic knowledge, and they will insist on using text speak which takes ages to translate. Again, this can be applied to many people, but unfortunately we see a predominance of Indian's who are like this. Also, as stated before, this doesn't apply to all Indian's. There are several here who I'd be proud to hire.

Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

I've never understood why, since you can choose your own screen name on CP, and there is a lot of discussion of "lazy foreigners" here, you would choose a non-western name. Then the rest of us would just think you were an illiterate American or Brit instead of a dang furriner. Although some would not be fooled (John can spot 'em a mile away). Like calling your credit card company: "'Allo, sank oo for calling, my name he is Larry." Yeah, right pal. :|

No, I didn't, and then I got nominated by several people and not reawarded. I'm pretty sure the reason is Vista.

How so? Wasn't your MVP award in the VC++ area?

Not sure about Christian. However seing similar posts quite often these days in the Lounge I have started atleast hating such peoples from India. Not to mention I am from India. A tip for you would be to read any post form Christian which you feel is a hatred comment against India over and over again till you realize what he is actually saying. I am sure you will have a different view sooner or later.
