I want to create an online help site for a small software product. Could you please give some suggestions? Which one is better: - Traditional MS Help workshop to compile help (.chm) file? - Using ASP.NET Master/Content pages with Navigation Controls? - Or is there any Ajax or other toolkit recommended for this purpose? Thanks a lot!

If you use Html Help Workshop, you can create both a CHM file to bundle with your product and also an online HTML version for your web site.

You want help to create an online help site? Isn't that kind of an instant failure? :P But IMHO .chm files are quite nice, but something ASP.NET might be more universal and easy to manage and use.

I've already got one started - you can use it as a template: Help[^]

You might also consider making a few video clips that show how to use and manage the software. I've seen several companies do this and put the video's on youtube so they don't swamp company servers.
