    RMS! Not HMS! It was the RMS Titanic, it was not owned by the Royal Navy or the State, therefore is not HMS. MV is another common Prefix, Motor Vessel.

    So, in the english wikipedia it is called RMS, in german one HMS. I don't mind. But we both agree the answer was wrong. :^)

        I think I know the answer but cant get it to fit into 9 letters PHLOGISTON - Alchemical word for fire?

                        I figured out where the PH came from, but how do you get TON from 'to point to'?

                          Whenever a crossword clue uses point, it's pretty much guaranteed that the point refers to a compass point. So, TON is TO North.
