Daleks

... and by that I mean the evil creatures that cause countless pain and suffering throughout the universe and not the one that sets the daily CCC which causes - oh, hang on. Anyway, apologies if I've asked this question before (the memory isn't what it was) but: Supposing that the Daleks had succeeded in their plan in the last series of Doctor Who and eliminated every other life form in the universe, leaving no worlds to conquer and nobody left to exterminate, what do you think Daleks would do to pass the time? Write their memoires? Crochet? Fight Internecine Wars between the Imperial Daleks and the Renegade Dalek Factions based upon their refusal to accept the other Dalek's Dalekiness? Evolve into more socially responsible creatures?

Which is a somewhat fruitless exercise for someone made of metal! Are you sure you weren't thinking of Max Mosley? :) Rich

Slightly OT: Supposing that I never saw any Dr Who before, would I understand and enjoy it if I started with the 2005 series?

They would attach magic markers to their chasis and become one huge automated spirograph machine.

I can't remember which was the 2005 series. I would guess that if it's the one where the Daleks were hiding behind the moon, this would be far enough back to make some sort of sense of the subsequent series. Whether anyone can ever really understand it all, I'm not sure! Rich

I have to disagree, the Cyberman were totally machine. The Borg, and Dalek's are both cybernetic organisms. ------------- This is sounding like the "discussion"; If superman and batman had a fight who would win...

Dean Koontz, The Good GuySuperman and Batman would never fight because they are both registered to DC. Also, it's not fair to set up a match between a human and an alien which can spin the Earth back in time. But a Batman vs Spiderman fight... that would really be something.

Dean Koontz, The Good GuyTo Correct You... Cybermen are CYBORGS. Part Organic, part machine. The Clue is in the name. The BORG are only a Cyberman Rip-off. See Here[^] If you are going to make Factual Corrections, please be aware of the Facts! :) (Never argue with me about Dr Who, I am a Time Lord you know!!!)

The Daleks would be shocked and come to the realisation that they would have to synthesize human life, in order to be able to tourture it with CCCs!:suss:

They would do exactly what everyone else does when they are bored. Solitaire ;)

Start with the New Series, ie from Christopher Ecclestone and work forward. However, each series has a link, and the last two stories of a series tie up all the loose ends. Except for the Last Three Episodes of the latest Series which linked right back through just about every story from the beginning! Brilliantly written!

You are, I regret to say, too late. According to a news report I saw somewhere earlier today, Bruce Wayne has been killed by a villain (who, incidentally, turns out to be his father) in the latest edition of the comic. R.I.P. Batman!
