Anyway, apologies if I've asked this question before (the memory isn't what it was) but: Supposing that the Daleks had succeeded in their plan in the last series of Doctor Who and eliminated every other life form in the universe, leaving no worlds to conquer and nobody left to exterminate, what do you think Daleks would do to pass the time? Slightly OT: Supposing that I never saw any Dr Who before, would I understand and enjoy it if I started with the 2005 series?

I can't remember which was the 2005 series. I would guess that if it's the one where the Daleks were hiding behind the moon, this would be far enough back to make some sort of sense of the subsequent series. Whether anyone can ever really understand it all, I'm not sure! Rich

Start with the New Series, ie from Christopher Ecclestone and work forward. However, each series has a link, and the last two stories of a series tie up all the loose ends. Except for the Last Three Episodes of the latest Series which linked right back through just about every story from the beginning! Brilliantly written!
