I know some of you are wondering where guys like Adnan get their weird ideas from. Well, here's what they show on TV these days (excerpts, not footage) : In TV Interview, Pakistani Security Expert Accuses Western Zionists, Hindu Zionists of Planning 11/26 Mumbai Terror Attacks[^] Here's one excerpt which is representative of the kind of crap they telecast : "This is not the 9/11 he [George W. Bush] was talking about [recently], but the Indians have themselves always wanted to orchestrate a 9/11, to create the same drama [9/11] in which they could include Americans and Israelis. We have no doubt this was [the result of] a joint plan by Israelis, Americans and Indians - in other words, this was a joint plan by Western Zionists and Hindu Zionists; in it Israelis are directly involved, there is involvement of Mossad." Think how Pakistani folks are bombarded with this sort of reporting and journalism for decades - so that might really throw light on why educated guys like Adnan believe in this sort of stuff. But logically speaking, wouldn't someone in Pakistan notice the fact that Indian TV, American TV, British TV, European TV, etc are all saying the exact opposite of what their media says? Surely, the whole world can't be wrong!

    Regards, Nish

Here's the link to said security expert's website. As Nish pointed out about Adnan, the guy is educated (EE degree) and a working professional. I would say that he could learn a little about website design, however.

Unable to face the evil they have become, many educated Pakistanis evidently choose denial instead. There is little else in this article. And WTF is a "Hindu Zionist". I think they are just assembling emotionally charged lables to get maximum effect. from dictionary.com: Zi·on·ism (zī'ə-nĭz'əm) Pronunciation Key n. A Jewish movement that arose in the late 19th century in response to growing anti-Semitism and sought to reestablish a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Modern Zionism is concerned with the support and development of the state of Israel.

Nish, presumably Adnan believes only what he is told by those who do the instructing, and the instructors are possibly those at his local Mosque or Madrassa. Consequently, western style of news reporting attracts a certain level of distrust and is therefore subject to distortion. Thus, the idiom "None so blind as those who will not see", is probably relevant.

You sound exactly like Adnan, more's the pity. Edit I find myself wondering if some lamebrain thought that I was insulting Vikram, rather than complementing him on his perfect imitation, and thus voted me a 1. Of course, it's possible that Adnan responded to my insulting him, but, either way, it appears there's a lamebrain who didn't like this post.

There is a huge difference between being literate(or something more than that) and educated.

Agreed. My point was - as was Nish's earlier - that he wasn't a peasant or otherwise not exposed to the larger world.

Had these people not been there, would there have been a state called Pakistan? Pakistani public owe big time to all of them. "Hatred" is their birthright, don't deny them that. That is the only reason helped a section dream of a separate nation called Pakistan.

That is pure speculation on your part. Oakman is an equal opportunity offender (I mean this in a good way - I am also an equal opportunity offender) and has probably succeeded in offending many people. If you take yourself too seriously he will eventually offend you, and if you're a moron you will try to retaliate by becoming a univoter who stalks him and votes everything he posts down.

There is no evidence that Ilion has been around yet this morning (I'm sure he's in church getting his snake-handling fix), so that leaves Adnan...

I guess I saw the first one go gray and jumped to the wrong conclusion. Ilion admitted awhile back that he 1-voted me pretty much upon logging on, but I've certain offended a number of folks who are quite sure that they know the whole truth and speak nothing but the truth and are vindictive whenever someone questions their veracity, knowledge, or intelligence. Usually I regard 1-votes as simply a compliment. If I wasn't upsetting these people they might get the idea I agreed with them. If I'd know I was getting unabombed, I wouldn't have edited my post.
