If all of us agreed on everything, then what good would be this forum? Though I've found that while I've disagreed with some folks on certain issues, I haven't found anyone with whom I haven't also agreed with on some particular topic. On to be more clear I don't think there's anybody here with whom I disagree on every single issue.

Nish, presumably Adnan believes only what he is told by those who do the instructing, and the instructors are possibly those at his local Mosque or Madrassa. Consequently, western style of news reporting attracts a certain level of distrust and is therefore subject to distortion. Thus, the idiom "None so blind as those who will not see", is probably relevant.

Yep, that seems to be pretty much what's going on among the educationally elite in Pakistan. :sigh:

I know some of you are wondering where guys like Adnan get their weird ideas from. Well, here's what they show on TV these days (excerpts, not footage) : In TV Interview, Pakistani Security Expert Accuses Western Zionists, Hindu Zionists of Planning 11/26 Mumbai Terror Attacks[^] Here's one excerpt which is representative of the kind of crap they telecast : "This is not the 9/11 he [George W. Bush] was talking about [recently], but the Indians have themselves always wanted to orchestrate a 9/11, to create the same drama [9/11] in which they could include Americans and Israelis. We have no doubt this was [the result of] a joint plan by Israelis, Americans and Indians - in other words, this was a joint plan by Western Zionists and Hindu Zionists; in it Israelis are directly involved, there is involvement of Mossad." Think how Pakistani folks are bombarded with this sort of reporting and journalism for decades - so that might really throw light on why educated guys like Adnan believe in this sort of stuff. But logically speaking, wouldn't someone in Pakistan notice the fact that Indian TV, American TV, British TV, European TV, etc are all saying the exact opposite of what their media says? Surely, the whole world can't be wrong!

        Regards, Nish

As I type this, CNN is finishing up an interview with the ex-head of the Pakistan Intelligence Service, Hamid Gul, who may or may not be about to be extradited to India. Gul indeed went into great detail about the Jewish-American sham the world knows as 9/11. Gul is apparently a leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba, the organization that carried out the attack. According to the one surviving terrorist, they were trained by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence which is the outfit Gul headed. These stupid stupid people keep denying the truth when it becomes more and more obvious that elements in Pakistan were behind the attack. SecState Rice has made it clear, she believes, to the government of Pakistan that blanket denials aren't going to wash. "I did say to the Pakistanis that the argument that these are non-state actors is not acceptable," Rice said in an interview today on ABC’s This Week program. "Non-state actors in your territory are still your responsibility." According to some reports she has also told the Pak government that there is irreutable evidence of Pakistani involvement in the attacks. John McCain (according to the Hindu Newspaper) has warned Pakistan that they could end up leaving India no other option than to make strikes inside Pak territory. [^]

I didn't vote you down, but weren't you the one that gave me a dressing-down for not using the joke icon the other day? :suss:

Well, you're a better man than I am. Whenever I find myself in agreement with Ilion, I have to seriously rethink the issue. I'd be embarrassed to agree with him on most subjects. Luckily this doesn't happen very often. ;)

I'm not at all sure that the Government of Pakistan is more afraid of Islamic backlash than of what India or the United States represents. The report that in North West Pakistan, some 300 gunmen sympathisers (militants) did cause minor problems Militants torch Afghan supplies [^] And as Pakistan is a means to supply Allied Forces in Afghanistan, the seemingly lack of wholehearted Pakistani Military support to Allied operations, is it time to threaten use of "the big stick", and will Pakistan ignore it.

Adnan, Typical reply from you - no factual arguments. Just blind responses that confirm what I stated in my first post. So basically you are saying that the CIA, the US media, the US govt, the Indian govt, the Indian media, and the captured terrorist are all unified in some sort of conspiracy to defame Pakistan? Can't you see how absurd that theory is?

Well banging your head against concrete would yield more results than to try to talk some sense into him.

The PK article sounds disturbingly similiar to the those people here in the US (and you know who you are) who said George Bush blew up the world trade center to get another term in office.

Few days back Oakman made a post that Indians could not impress Condi. I thnk this is the reason Indians are blaming Bengalis now. NIshant, you also bored me. Enjoy the Sunday!

I actually said that Pakistan's response to India's demand that 20 terrorists be extradited did not impress Condi Rice [Original Post^] Got that? Pakistan did not impress Condi. Adnan, I don't know whether your command of English is slipping even more than usual, or whether you're just throwing out any lie you can think of in hopes of clouding the issue but either way, you're going to have to do a lot better if you expect to talk with the grownups.

If Adnan is representative of the educated classes in Pakistan - which I hope is not true - then all those assorted organizations would have to do is stand by and let Pakistan cover itself in poverty, stupidity, and insanity. After all, no-one is required to save someone who wants to drown in his own shit.
