What are some good hip-hop artists, or even certain tracks. I'm defending myself where I've said I like some hip-hop, but just don't remember any particular details.

Ummm - Public Enemy[^]? I also like Ice-T, Cypress Hill, some Beastie Boys (I love this album[^]) and NWA. On the other hand, I'm just as happy listening to this[^] or this[^], so you might want to take that with a pinch of caution :-)

The two terms "hip-hop" and "artist" are mutually exclusive.

Generally speaking you're right, but there are exceptions which I think my post above proves.

:) It's very catchy. They have a lot of other good stuff as well. Oddly enough I found out about them watching The L Word when it was used in an episode.

*snap* that was the limb breaking off - there is no such thing as a good hip-hop artists, they live in the same audio garbage bin as rap artists.

All the previous posts have been about gangsta rap, not hip-hop. DJ Format produces great hip hop. Also, try Jurassic 5 - it's not about b!tches and guns, but some quite cool lyrical skills. Then there's Pharcyde, who are in a similar vein. Also, some Jay Z and some Kanye West is good, although the pair of them stray too much towards gangsta rap for my liking.

Pete, I got it. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean it's funny. I like puns, much to the disgust of well, everyone around me. I feel this overwhelming urge to share them.
