Awesome. Awesome. That's my kind of weather. Do you remember how crisp and fresh everything was? Ah, I miss it!

Yeah, I also remember my toque freezing to my forehead as a result of my breath condensing and forming ice when I was walking to and from university. I remember my toes going numb and having to bundle up like an astronaut. I remember having to plug in my car and pray that it started. The hoar frost[^] was pretty, though.

I didn't know you had roundabouts that side of the Atlantic.

Yeah. There's a few being constructed. They're not ubiquitious, however. At least, not yet.

Nope. I heard that although school bus services wouldn't be running, schools would remain open.

I seem to remember reading once (on the internet, so it must be true), that the first ever roundabout was in the USA, but they never caught on over there. We Europeans have them every few metres. ;)

yeah, 30cm of snow and schools are open. 1inch of snow in texas and the state declares an emergency. Shits not fair in life.

In full disclosure, I am a Canadian currently living in France (and prior to France, Switzerland). So I know Europe is full of roundabouts. The webcam and the snowstorm are, thankfully, thousands of miles away across the Atlantic at the moment. But you are right, the roundabouts have not caught on in North America. I don't know why, really, as they keep traffic moving quite well. Much better than a 4-way stop, really.

meh. 40's shirtsleave weather, regardless of if it's above or below. THe only limiting factor on shoveling snow in shorts and a tshirt at freezing is when my muscles get tired.

I'm from Hamilton originally, but currently I'm in Europe so I'm not actually in Ancaster. I do have family in Ancaster though. Looks like you're getting a good one over there.

Yeah I'm in Binbrook and there was quite the snowstorm most of the day today. There are actually 4 cars parked in the middle of the street out front of my house that have been there for the last 4 or 5 hours. Poor saps got stuck in the snow and finally gave up and walked back to their houses and just left their cars. ;P
