LOL, now you have me lmao. I actually introduced them to the game a few weeks back when it was introduced to the lounge. Its become a habit since the machinery puzzle that had me lapse for about two weeks.

Isn't that like peering into the firey depths of Hell? Well yeah maybe for Raggot. Oh I remember the first time I read that back when the inter webs was all shiny and new, just a minuscule rain cloud in Al Gore's brainstorm, and everything was true. The top ten scary things listed in that story had me in tears then and still makes me laugh out loud when I read it now. Ahhh the good ol' days when setting fire to your gerbil was much more entertaining than spanking a hamster.

I first encountered it in audio form in 99(?) it became a recurring bit of humor in one of my IRC channels, and's been played by someone at least once in each of our annual face to face get-togethers.

That's the one! I showed it to my brother and my dad, who in turn told my uncles and my brother told my friends about it, and he even got a mention for it in his university's newspaper (and apparently a death threat for wasiting all the students', faculties' and anyone that knows how to use a computer's time...) Ah, don't you just love when somethings propagate? :D

ha ha! Yeah my best friend and I still snort knowingly at each other whenever we hear folks use "In retrospect..." during conversation. Or, we'll use catch phrases from the storyline, and award virtual points to those that get it when we do. Sorta like references to the "Milk Bar", but I dye grass.

While spanking the hamster with my lady this weekend I thought I had her quashed with a score of 414. Then she managed to smack me down with a 494! Has anyone beaten that score in the Hamster Launcher game posted a week or two ago? Any tips? I can't let this one stand... I suspect she snuck a flying squirrel into her lineup for that game.:suss: BTW - She swears that bouncing the hamster off the ground at first launch increases the glide distance. I haven't verified that yet.

I introduced the game to my whole family. My brother, one of my sisters-in-law and I are the only ones that can get the cumulative total distance over 1000 and I'm the only one that occasionally gets the cumulative distance over 1200. You have to try and make the hamsters glide as horizontally as possible.

Wow! Maybe you should get a job or something. You clearly have way too much time on your hands. I think maybe I'll not be telling my gf about this score, else I'll never get her off the damned computer at night. She's a tad competitive, something like a pit bull with a bloody bone, but less indifferent.

Ok, thank you for making me spew coffee everywhere. The first thing that came to my mind was "In retrospect...." the gerbil and open flame story that went around "teh 'net" way back in the day. Raggot the Unfortunate Gerbil[^]

  I must have missed that one; thanks for the repost. If it's any consolation, I nearly spewed my scotch. Fortunately, I have more respect for scotch than you have for coffee, and managed to defer the paroxysms until after I swallowed the sacred elixer. But I do think I'll need another one to help with my recovery.

I don't think so; at least, the only feathers involved were in the pillow.

I appreciate a good scotch myself, but when I posted it was morning (as it is now with this post), and coffee was the appropriate beverage of the hour. The spewing of the concoction, and thus it's waste, was alleviated by the fact that it's shabby office vendor coffee. In regards to "spanking the hamster" maybe the line from "Holy Grail" finally makes sense now. :omg:
