Just install a splitter and run cable up to it; just make certain you don't mention that to COMCAST, because they'll want to charge you an extra $14.00/Mo (freak'in rip off that they are).

Not feasible since the rooms are on opposite sides and different floors. Don't want cables all over. I'd hire a professional, but I don't really need it. We use it for watching old VHS tapes that we have.

Bummer. Well, consider this: if you have a bad storm roll through, and cable goes out, you'll want to have a converter box anyway, to make certain you'll still be able to get news. I realize you can use a radio, but for some things, a radio won't do. Now, it should be stated: if the reception you currently get with your existing rabbit ears is weak, then you'll probably not be able to receive a digital signal on that set at all, even with a converter box, because the digital signals do not have the reach that current analog does; in which case, you'll want to get yourself a power DTV antennae or the like. You can read more about this and other topics like it here[^]

Yeah, I already got the coupon, but it probably expired since I misplaced it. I applied again, but I'm on a waiting list.

Only high power channels have to switch over. Low power stations, IIRC 2/3rds of the total, don't. OTOH low power stations are generally independents that only broadcast garbage, and even then they might switch since consumers want HD and running two transmitters is an extra expense.

Anyone in the US, east coast with Comcast, watch Pitch Black last night? They kept switching to BSG every time the commercials ended and had to switch back to Pitch Black. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the February cut-off date for rabbit ears?

I’m with Comcast and everything was OK last night. They broadcasted the new “Pitch Black 3” – nice movie and extremely realistic!

You must have missed the first commercial break. Those BSG episodes were billed as "Webisodes" and made up a standalone BSG story shown to generate excitement for season 7, which starts tonight. A new "chapter" was shown at the end of each of the commercial breaks during "Pitch Black". I did not make it to the end... did they make it back to the fleet? Had nothing to do with the DTV switch-over...
