It's entirely realistic that they should probably drop another 8-10k jobs to be honest. Starting with old Stevie B and Ray "Blotus Goates" Ozzie. They are too big, they're doing way too many things, and they've lost a lot of focus.

Except with all due respect to the folks who lost their jobs, MS should have done this a while ago. It's entirely realistic that they should probably drop another 8-10k jobs to be honest. Starting with old Stevie B and Ray "Blotus Goates" Ozzie. They are too big, they're doing way too many things, and they've lost a lot of focus.

Yeah, I know but the timing is funny and the math almost adds up in a very cynical way. Of course, now I have to compete with people who have Microsoft on their resumes for contracts. It was bad enough competing with the will work for free crowd.

That was my impression too - that these folks are either contractors, or non-developers, sales, assistants, etc.

I got laughed at by the owner of a consulting company in Phoenix once. He had way too much work, him and his staff were pulling in over 90 hours a week and just couldn't keep up with the demand. Long story short, he charges his customers about $20 an hour and wanted to pay me $15; he laughed when I told him what I charged and replied with a sly comment, "No wonder your looking for work". That said I keep looking in that market I think it would be a nice play to try for a few months. Then again I have a goal of working in all 50 States. I don't know how that is going to happen. BTW, good luck with your search.
