For the benefit of those stupid people who insist on judging climate change on the basis of short term weather in single locations. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/01/28/2476403.htm[^]

yep means that 70 years ago it was hotter :) The Weather Bureau says Adelaide's hottest day on record was 46.1 degrees in January 1939. cant see how that helps your GW case though Mssr Carson, if anything it works against it, as obviously there was less atmospheric C02 then ? cheerypips Bryce

So you post a link about Adelaide, one location, reaching the highest temp for 70 yesrs? Are you taking the piss out of yourself on purpose? Anyway, all this shows is that 70 years ago it was as hot as it is on this single day in Adelaide. Or are you showing that it was as warm in the 1930's as it is today, like the US, the artic, Greenland etc while CO2 was relatively low? Nice one John, you are doing a good job of destroying AGW theory.

I have reached another member of my target audience. I could point out that the article also says:

The record of six days of 40 degree heat or more was set in January 1908. On Tuesday Adelaide had a top temperature of 43.2 degrees. The Weather Bureau is forecasting a further five days of 40 degrees or more for the city. The State's longest heatwave happened last March, with 15 days above 35 degrees.

Thus, by one measure (temperature above 35), the longest heatwave on record was last March and the longest heatwave by another measure (temperature above 40) is predicted to occur over the next few days. Of course, that in itself doesn't mean much. I was merely indulging in the Biblical practice of answering a fool according to his folly. Naturally the fools learned nothing and only added to their foolishness.

And where in that post did I claim that it proves global warming? Do you grasp the concept of "answering a fool according to his folly" or is it one of the many that is way over your head?

I'm sure it comforts you to know, John, that, at least on the Science, I agree with you.
