I was thinking if the government(USA) can dictate salaries for those that recieve bailout money (TARP funds), why couldn't they dictate who they can advertise with? Did a search and found indeed the government is starting to bring pressure[^]. I suspect it won't be that long before a list of acceptable advertisers will be specified; * LA Times * New York Times * Chicago Tribune * Air America Unacceptable advertisers; * Any Fox station * Washington Times * Mark Levine * Rush Limbaugh * Sean Hannity * DrudgeReport.com So my question I put to our socialist friends is, should the government have a say in how TARP recipients spend for advertising? IMO, if the government bailed these companies out, they basically own them. It's a huge leap from this story to your conspiracy theories tho.

No matter how many times a read the article(s) on the page you linked to, I can't find even the suggestion that the government is influencing who the banks advertise with. The main article talks about BoA "being the target of a scathing report" about their 5 day superbowl event. As I recall, that "scathing Report" was by Fox news (I watch Fox often...), and was well deserved by BofA. Even given 14,000 new accounts, the cost per account was absurd... I think you may be jumping to conclusions here. There's enough wrong with TARP and AERRA that we don't need to attract ridicule by inventing stuff that is imaginary.

No, reality tells me that conspiracy theorists love clutching at straws. And again, if a corporation exists only b/c the government bailed it out, then it has become a national asset, to whatever degree your government decides to make it one. I am not saying this is a good thing, but it's true.

Anything said that doesn't model the utopia that you think you live in is a conspiracy. I had an interesting dream this morning. It was the most bizarre and intense dream I have ever had. In the dream reality as we knew it was not reality at all. I knew something was not right about what I was feeling. I woke up and went back to sleep and the dream continued, but this time I seen the real reality. Everyone was in a machine built from people controlled by a handful of strange creatures. Everyone's thoughts were manipulated through the machinery. Everything you know about current events comes from the TV, and other media. They do control what you believe about the world because they are the only source of your information. Independent minds are the only ones able to draw there own conclusions. You on the other hand are a sponge that repeats what you absorb from your leaders, perpetuating your delusion and the delusion shared by a saddeningly large number of people.

Not at all. I don't believe I live in a utopia ( although my life is pretty damn good, perhaps it's more correct to say, I don't believe Americans live in a utopia ).

Yeah. You are parroting your conspiracy videos here. Funny enough, I think my leader is a tosser, and believe close to nothing he says. I don't trust yours much more than that. Just because our leaders are corrupt, does not prove that the most extreme theory you hear has to be true. We've discussed this before, and you have nothing to back up your beliefs. So, you

You on the other hand are a sponge that repeats what you absorb from your leaders, perpetuating your delusion and the delusion shared by a saddeningly large number of people.

So, you

I didn't get my theories from youtube videos or the super-duper-neo-nazi-fascist website you want to believe all my information comes from. I know when information is being withheld or being manipulated to make it seem harmless or good or fact. Its a skill one has to develop when involved with sociopaths, people who get through life through manipulation and lies.

OK, b/c youtube is the only source you've ever provided. Either you've got nothing, or you WANT for us all to remain deluded, b/c you're keeping the truth to yourself.

This amounts to a pile of crap, sorry. Remember, I never said I trust all the news tells me. I just know that the motivation is the same motivation that the conspiracy sites have, to tell a group of people what they want to hear. The only difference is that CNN has the wisdom to choose a segment and viewpoint big enough to be worth making money off. Otherwise, there is no difference.

LOL - so that's all you've got ? Empty rhetoric ? If you want to tell us that there's some grand conspiracy, and all the proof you have is a dream you had, then who is deluded ? Who is the nut job ?

Empty Rhetoric should be your name. You build your arguments on top of twisted biased pseudo-logic and then it comes crashing down just like the economy. My dream was just a way of explaining a large complex issue in simple terms. If you would just open your eyes, and do your research on economics, fractional reserve banking, and history you would understand. When I say research I don't mean look for conclusions, I mean gather the pieces, put them together, and think real hard. You won't do that though.

OK then, Mr Economics, perhaps you'd like to give a reasonably in-depth treatment of game theory?
