Mysterious, maybe. Silly, definitely. As I mentioned, it's not even consistent.

With no pre-defined rules for message deletion it's rather stupid. Some offensive messages have been deleted, some inoffensive messages have been deleted. Doesn't make sense. Some have been removed after 2 votes...I thought it took multiple (i.e. more than two) to remove a message?

And some of my posts vanish within minutes, sometimes even as I'm correcting a spelling error or missing word I didn't notice before I'd initially posted it.

I know - sometimes they've been deleted before I can post a response. I think this "Message Deleted" feature is rather ridiculous - at least when it's being abused like this.

A high proportion of your responses translate into "Yer stoopid!" So, I suppose I didn't miss all that much.

At least (unless I'm misremembering) you've expressed this opinion previously, which puts you light-years ahead of Dryrot, who enjoys the abusive nature of it and boasts of his ability to help censor me.

How long did it take you to come up with this attack? The effect of the programming is quite impressive.

I'd believe that if some of the messages weren't still in blue - and some of them only have 2 votes.... An explanation would be nice. Apparently, while I was away, I missed loads...

You're right - some of mine were removed after one vote. However, the fact the Ilion is not subjected to this attack makes me still believe it is instigated by him.

%'s don't necessarily seem to help. Fistcuffs post below was supposedly so protected, and is now gone. Someone is having a good bit of fun at everyone else's expense. I hope Chris is able to detect the offender's identity and has the Lawyers drop him a not-so-polite suggestion.

I would appear this is an administrative decision.

The thought crossed my mind, but what exactly would be the point? If Chris wanted to shut SB down, he could. If he wanted to eliminate all negative voting in here, he could.

I have no idea - hence my original thread.

Then what's with all the message deletion, if nothing happened?

Oh, that's what you meant. I have no idea what causes that, but I am laughing about it. Perhaps it's due to whatever it is which allows my posts to be vanished so quickly by one or two persons. I was talking about the general tone and content of the place.

%'s don't necessarily seem to help. Fistcuffs post below was supposedly so protected, and is now gone. Someone is having a good bit of fun at everyone else's expense. I hope Chris is able to detect the offender's identity and has the Lawyers drop him a not-so-polite suggestion.

Or, especially if it is Troy as I suspect, Chris gets pissed enough to keep deleting him every time he reregisters.
