Very cool, and well deserved! As an aside, I'm really surprised that a magazine named Visual Studio Journal handed out so many awards to Visual Studio. But then, I don't get out much...

Well what else would they hand it out to? It's not like the market for IDE's is cornered or anything :)

It is the Visual Systems Journal. Look here[^]. It's not a bad magazine considering the price. Does more than MS and VS. I have found it useful, for instance I was having problems getting my head round LINQ, then I read a series of articles they ran, round Sept/Oct last year. Now I understand just enough to be dangerous. :)

I think it's a fine magazine. I seem to recall reading it when it first came out (very thin at the time). Perhaps they changed the name after they got going from Studio to System. Or perhaps I'm just having a drug flashback. One never knows...

I think it was always Visual Systems Journal. Perhaps you are confusing it with Visual Studio Magazine[^]? VSJ used to provide a good sprinkling of Java stuff but it seems even more MS-centric these days. Nonetheless it's a good mag.

Huh, Google was a contestant in the "Web resource for developers" section? I find the nomination very odd. Ok, ok we find a lot of useful thing using google, but they are just a tool for searching, they don't create content. Or was it refering to Google Groups?

They probably mean its MSDN equivalent - Google Code[^].

Congrats to all the CPians. One thing I found odd there is ASP.Net is runner up in Best web development software category. Is it a software? I dont think so.

Yeah, I found that odd too!

From the web site:
Best web resource for developers Winner: Code Project Runners up: MSDN, Google
now msdn and google will start sending programming queries to cpYusuf
Well, judging by the way that certain individuals use CP long before they consider using google, it was obvious that CP was going to be the winner.

Perhaps there's a reason for that. BTW, for what it's worth, I always Google first.

You weren't the target - it's some of the denser users in the C# and ASP.NET forums.

I wasn't specifically addressing you with my slightly defensive comment.
