So, why do you only recognize it when it is from a republican? Republicans didn't coin the term 'magic negro'. Democrats did.

I really don't care how Mike identifies himself politically. His use of the term is racist - plain and simple.

President Plans To Charge Wounded Heroes For Treatment[^] As a veteran, I'm appalled and downright PISSED OFF that the communist bastard voted into office would even consider trying something like this.

I would think that as a fiscal conservative you would be in favor of saving the taxpayers money when veterans have overlapping coverage.

two of my favorites, but yes, if I were face to face with either or both I would reference the man using the same terms while adressing both of them as Mr. or Sir or Justice as appropriate. I have -0- respect for Obama, he comes out of corrupt Chicago / Illinois politics and is dragging this country to places I don't want to see it go. Since the votes have been counted and he's at the helm for the next 4 years all I can do is show him the same level of respect as was shown previous presidents by their detractors - but the sobriquet Magic is mild compared to that.

And what portion of the population of the United States of America do you think you are endearing yourself, or your views to, by making racist comments? Personally I don't care what you think. Since your underlying motivation appears to be racism that means you believe that people of the black race are physiologically inferior to you which allows you to assume that you are smarter than every single one of them. Now, how smart is that?

The only likely result of such a policy would be that health insurance companies would revise their policies to exclude coverage for injuries incurred as a result of Military service. Since most plicies are renewed annually, the government would soon have no one to bill. In the case of policies aquired after the service, it is a mute point, since as Mike G. Pointed out, all current policies exclude pre-existing conditions. As a reasonable human being of whatever political persuasion, I would expect you to want the government to be responsible and pay for treatment of on the job injuries to it's employees.

he's doing two things: fucking over the military, trying to turn the public against insurance companies to further his health care agenda because to begin with he knows full well (or is too stupid to come in out of the rain) that insurance companies do not cover pre-existing conditions. So if you're ex-military with a war related injury and try to buy insurance coverage for that condition, it won't happen and the public will be outraged. your other point may well be the truth, he wants to take the country down a peg - I've always though he was a Manchurian Candidate, just a matter of when it is all activated.

erm.... I'm not sure how his pointing out that Obama is a Negro, is racist. He's not saying that his being a Negro is the reason he hates him. The Democrats made much of his race when he was merely a contender ( a moment in history, etc ), I read Mikes' comment as suggesting that his race may have helped get him in, or at least that it was a major focal point in his getting votes. I don't see it as a suggestion that he judges people by their race, which is racism. Now, I'm not saying I buy in to his politics especially, but if the phrase 'magic negro' is racism, then I don't see it.

I do love the overuse of the word 'hero' in the USA. I guess it's part of a culture of warfare. Having said that, if what you say is true, that totally blows. I'd be amazed he'd try it, it would surely be the end of his re-election chances, and the beginning of some hard work for his security team. Good idea - annoy all the people who know how to shoot a gun. That's not the only reason, if someone offers to risk their life for their country, their country owes them. It sure as hell owes them medical treatment if injured.

You gotta wonder about the Marines that are stationed at the White House. If he managed to get something like that passed, would the Marines guarding him be as willing to take a bullet for him if they knew they'd be financially responsible for their wounds if they got hit? If I were Obama, I'd seriously re-think this whole thing.

Wouldn't know I don't read Ilion. Does he frequently quote George Carlin? Besides wouldn't that be a George Carlin impression rather than a Ilion impression?

I do love the overuse of the word 'hero' in the USA. I guess it's part of a culture of warfare. Having said that, if what you say is true, that totally blows. I'd be amazed he'd try it, it would surely be the end of his re-election chances, and the beginning of some hard work for his security team. Good idea - annoy all the people who know how to shoot a gun. That's not the only reason, if someone offers to risk their life for their country, their country owes them. It sure as hell owes them medical treatment if injured.

Maybe now you understand why it's not the army I figger I need a shotgun for. ;)
