Truth! End the teeth brushes are not what they used to be. I used my previous one/Oak handle, horse-hair./ for 25 years without a single problem. The new one becomes bald for only a couple of years – and there is no warranty!

For the first time in many years I recently came across an inanimate object of desire and it was a digital camera: http://us.leica-camera.com/photography/m_system/m8/[^] That thing to me is the archetype for what good electronic gadgets should be, so cool, so slick, so well thought out that you almost don't even realize it's electronic at all. Something timeless that you could easily envision still using decades from now. Unfortunately it's tremendously expensive but it represents everything possible with modern, seriously engineered timeless technology as a perfect counter to the current disposable ethos.
