Few days ago, someone had posted about whether you would accept certain tasks. This link points to the dilemma about accepting a job in a particular domain, i.e. Adult Industry, [^]. Frankly, I myself would accept such a job, but I am not sure about how my friends or family members would react to that.

If they don't want to support you financially, they ain't got sh*t to say about. If you want me to, I can call 'em and tell 'em that for you.

As opposed to working in the tobacco industry?

Certainly not. I just hate people chewing / smoking tobacco, so there is no possibility that I would ever support anything related to it.

At times, you may find the job difficult then. :)

I worked for a phone sex company a few years ago. Writing and maintaining database, billing, reporting, etc. applications. It was no different from any other private company with in-house software and it paid well.

I worked for a defense contractor: Sex: The female Air Force captain asked my boss (also female) the following question before I showed up for the first day of work: "So - does he have a nice ass?". This established a theme for that job. She was always asking me to accompany her to conferences that were only peripherally related to the project. Lies: We wrote proposals to try and win contracts. 'Nuff said. Software development: We did write some damned fine software on occasion.
